Strawberry Key Lime French Toast

Strawberry Key Lime French Toast
Yields22 Servings
 ¼ cup water
 2 cups sliced frozen or fresh strawberries
 2 cups cold whole milk
 4 eggs
 8 pieces of bread
  cup whole milk
 1 tsp vanilla
 2 tbsp granulated sugar
 1 tsp ground cinnamon
 Vegetable oil
 Powdered sugar
Variation:

Whisk ¾ cup Strawberry Fruit Spread and water in a bowl until saucy. Add strawberries and stir until strawberries are coated in the sauce. Set aside.

Pour 2 cups cold milk into the bowl of an electric mixer; add Key Lime Flavored Cream Dessert Filling Mix. Using the whisk attachment, mix on low speed for 1 minute. Turn off and scrape sides. Continue mixing on high speed for 3 to 4 minutes or until firm. Set aside.

In a large flat shallow pan, whisk eggs, 2/3 cup milk, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon together.

Preheat griddle. Coat with vegetable oil.

Soak bread in egg mixture, turning once, until saturated.

Place on griddle and fry on each side until golden brown.

To serve, smear 1 teaspoon Strawberry Fruit Spread on 2 slices of French Toast. Place 1 slice on serving plate. Top with ½ cup Key Lime Flavored Cream Dessert Filling Mix. Place the other slice of French toast on top and press down slightly. Top with additional ½ cup Key Lime Flavored Cream Dessert Filling Mix. Portion about ¼ cup reserved strawberries in sauce on top. Dust with powdered sugar. Repeat with remaining toast.
